Light Up Their World
This project has been created to assist our sister office in Lima, Peru to provide matches and candles to those most affected by the recent earthquake that levelled the cities of Pisco and Chincha (the epicentres), ravaged the towns of Ica, Canete and other smaller locales in the Province of Yauyos, just south of Lima. The poorest provincial area in Peru, Huancavelica, was also seriously damaged. Many NGOs are on the ground providing water, clothing, blankets and other necessities but there is also an overwhelming need for simple things such as candles and matches.
Your donations will go directly (via Western Union) to Mabel Toribio at Mision Rescate Planeta Tierra Peru in Lima, where she will be personally transporting all items purchased through our fundraising efforts to the affected areas. Rescue Mission Canada is also compiling boxes of health kits to be sent to Mabel for her to disperse. These kits include a facecloth, bar of soap, comb, bandaids, a pretty hair clip, and a tiny shampoo or hand lotion. Experience has demonstrated that these little kits are very important in helping victims return to some semblance of normal life in the midst of the disaster.
When you contribute Paypal will issue a receipt.
