Changing Statistics: Arivu-Peace Child active in Bangalore India
Bangalore India - March 21, 2007

This joint project{ Arivu and PeaceChild International} is dedicated to improving current world statistics related to poverty and environmental destruction in Bangalore. CIDA intern Gurpavan Kaur Gill is engaged in interesting projects working with some of the poorest children in the city... creating a reading room for 60-70 orphaned and homeless boys in a government funded boys home. Being badly underfunded, the lone classroom is basically barren and bookless.
In addition to working with local youth, Peace Child India is involved in researching sustainable environmental technologies. Project director Jagan Devaraj is hopeful that a continued source of funding will be found soon. Pavan has returned to Canada but is unable to complete the project in PEI. Adam MacIsaac has been hired for 14 weeks to complete the project
