Along with founder Susan Hawkins, and four youth directors, the organization is run almost entirely by young volunteers from across central and eastern Canada. Click on a person's name or a picture to meet our staff.
As a member and director of Rescue Mission for the past four years, Adam has grown with the organization and it is very much a part of him now. Rescue Mission has given Adam the opportunity to work with a wonderful array of people, to travel, educate, and the opportunity to make a positive difference in the various communities in which he has lived.
Adam is a graduate of the Public Relations program at Algonquin College in Ottawa and is now studying Human Relations at Concordia University in Montreal. He hopes to one day land a job in the non-profit sector lobbying the government for environment or human rights, or with an environmental organization, as these are his passions.
The largest environmental concern for Adam is air quality and global warming. Time after time it has been proven to us that the planet’s temperature is increasing - we are seeing changes in our weather patterns, and smog has become a very large problem, not only in urban centres, but in rural communities as well.
